AKC #:<\/strong> DL77573903\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 February 4, 1999 – January 23, 2007<\/p>\n CERF:<\/strong> ACD-1686\/2006-84<\/p>\n Scooter\u00a0 was our first Australian Cattledog.\u00a0 He came to live with us in August 1999 from Colorado.\u00a0 After several conversations with Lori Bashor , we decided to fly Scooter out and so the adventures began…<\/strong><\/p>\n Scooter was a well rounded dog and had a wonderful temperament.\u00a0 In\u00a0 October 2000, he passed the Temperament Test which is given by the American Temperament Test Society, Inc.\u00a0 This is similar to the AKC Canine Good Citizen test.\u00a0 He had to go through a series of 10 obstacles and was graded on how well he handled each one and then totaled overall.<\/strong><\/p>\n When the other two dogs were added to the family, Scooter never felt any jealousy at all.\u00a0 His favorite things to do was\u00a0 chasing a black Kong (one of the few toys he was never able to destroy), and keeping a watchful eye on our property.<\/strong><\/p>\n On January 14, 2007, Scooter got sick,\u00a0 What we thought was a slight case of flu turned into something much more complicated.\u00a0 We found out that Scooter had a growth on his heart and fluid was accumulating around it.\u00a0 We believe that the growth was a tumor.\u00a0 On January 23, 2007, Scooter was deteriorating to the point that he wouldn’t eat and couldn’t keep fluids down.\u00a0 We felt it was no longer fair to him to keep him alive for our sake so we made the tough decision to have him put to sleep and relive his suffering.<\/strong><\/p>\n We miss Scooter very much and it is because of him that we became involved with cattle dogs. He truly was a good ambassador of the breed.<\/strong><\/p>\n
