NASDA stands for North American Sport Dog Association. It is a performance event where dogs will search for a variety of items. The classes include:
- Urban Locating
- Searching in “Man Made Obstacles Locations” for rats that are in box containers
- Trailing and Locating
- Searching in rural locations for rats that are in box containers
- Shed Dog
- Searching for shed antlers in rural locations
- Trailing Brace
- Two dogs searching in one team in rural locations for rats that are in box containers
- Lost Item
- Searching for “Lost Items” that contain the owner’s familiar scent or a stranger’s unfamiliar scent
Within each “class” there are different levels of difficulty so as you advance, your dog has larger areas to search and/or more distractions for your dog.
Below are some photos taken during an Urban Locating (UL-1) trial and a Trailing & Location (TL-1) Trial.
